Privacy policy
Accessibility Cafe for Shopify. Last updated October 8, 2026.
Accessibility Cafe (“the app”) adds an accessibility menu to Shopify stores. This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, and how that information is used.
Information about merchants
When you install the app, we store:
- your store's myshopify.com domain;
- the access token Shopify issues to the app, which lets it save your settings.
The app requests no access scopes, so it can't read your products, orders or customers. Your widget settings (position, title, colors and the options you turn on or off) and the setup guide's progress are saved in your own store, as app metafields, not on our servers.
Information about shoppers
The app does not collect, store or send any information about your store's visitors.
The choices a shopper makes in the widget, such as text size or language, are saved only in that shopper's browser (local storage), so they persist between pages. They are never sent to us. The widget's files are served by Shopify as part of your theme, and the widget makes no requests to our servers.
How we use information
We use the information above only to run the app: to sign you in to the app inside Shopify admin and to save your settings. We don't sell or share it, and we don't use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
The app's server is hosted by Fly.io in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Like any web server, it keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, which can include IP addresses.
Retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, we delete your store's access token, and Shopify removes the app's metafields from your store. We also respond to Shopify's data requests and deletion requests (customers/data_request, customers/redact and shop/redact). Since the app holds no customer data, there is nothing about your customers to return or delete.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about your store, or ask us to delete it, by emailing accessibilitycafe@gmail.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If the app starts collecting different information, we'll update this policy and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
